Whiskey and tin
1

Aldri topplastede lommer i ringperm — kortene glir ut.

3

A historic combination

Pewter has for centuries been associated with good meals, strong drinks and social gatherings. The characteristic pewter cups from European inns are part of a long tradition, where function and aesthetics go hand in hand. Even today, tin is a natural choice for whiskey enthusiasts who appreciate craftsmanship, history and a unique drinking experience.

Royal Selangor continues this tradition with modern design and unique craftsmanship, showing that pewter still has a natural place in today's whiskey world.

What tin does to the whiskey experience

Temperature preservation

Tin has a natural ability to keep the temperature, and helps the whiskey stay cooler for longer - without the need for ice.

Taste experience

The smooth surface and clean material quality provide a pleasant drinking experience, where the focus is on the whiskey – not on the material.

Aesthetics

Pewter is beautiful, timeless and tactile. Each piece from Royal Selangor is a small work of art that elevates the entire experience – from everyday pleasures to special occasions.

Crafts you can see. Tradition you can feel.

Royal Selangor × The Balvenie — a collaboration between two crafts

Royal Selangor tin craft with The Balvenie whiskey

In a tribute to good craftsmanship and shared values, Royal Selangor has partnered with The Balvenie – one of Scotland's most respected whiskey distilleries. The result is an exclusive series of pewter products that unites Scottish whiskey tradition with Malaysian craftsmanship.

The collaboration is a meeting between two worlds that value time, precision and quality - and that both believe that the best experiences are created when tradition is allowed to live on.

Which whiskey goes with tin?

Tin suits most types of whiskey - from smooth and fruity to smoky and complex. Norwegian whiskey (Aurora, Myken) is a good example, but classics from Scotland such as The Balvenie, Lagavulin and other single malts also work excellently. It's ultimately about personal taste - and a curiosity to explore how tin can elevate your whiskey experience.
